In the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance of the top business apps in South Africa, as analyzed by Sensor Tower, showcased interesting trends across downloads and active users.

Cryptoguru: Trading Academy saw its weekly downloads peak at approximately 31.4K by the end of December, with a noticeable increase from the start of the quarter. The app's active user base also grew significantly, climbing from 60.4K to over 105.7K by the end of the year.

Microsoft Teams started strong with weekly downloads of 25.5K, but experienced a decline to around 6.5K by the final week. Active users mirrored this trend, dropping from 1.7M to approximately 685K over the quarter.

LinkedIn: Network & Job Finder maintained a steady weekly revenue, peaking at $56.5K in late November. Downloads followed a similar pattern, beginning at 21.5K and fluctuating throughout the quarter. Active users remained robust, hovering around 3.5M despite some fluctuations.

Indeed Job Search experienced a decline in downloads, starting at 21.6K and reaching a low of 9.2K before rebounding to 20.3K by the end of December. Active users peaked at 383K mid-quarter but tapered off to 293K.

Lastly, the MyTelkom App had a varied download pattern, starting at 19.7K, dropping mid-quarter, and ending at 17.1K. Active users increased from 181K to over 203K by the end of the year.
